Over the past half decade, the U.S. Defense Department has revamped its space acquisition processes, first by standing up a new Space Force, and then adding smaller offices dedicated to rapidly-produced proliferated constellations and embracing commercially provided services. Despite growing pains, observers say the new processes are here to stay.
